What are Arbitrage Topspinners? Very Serious Business guys.

Feb 25, 2008 I site.

Wow, guys, great.  I had about 250 emails over the weekend wanting more information about some of the things I’ve been building.  Probably 10 of those were bad ones - basically get-rich-quick morons asking for screenshots of checks for legitmacy before they would even open their ears to my preaching.  I’m not going to be doing that.  What if my systems all fail tommorrow?  Are you going to abandon me?

I know one thing for sure - I am a permanent fixture in this industry.  We build systems and procedures to survive cycles, right?   Exactly.

I’m going to try and personally contact each of you over the next two nights.  If you could, lets continue to expose others to the light.  I would like to have a lot more people with varied talents helping in our discussions.  Do you know someone that is an expert in SQL?  What about other coding languages besides php?  Let’s turn them on to the idea - share the rss feed with them or get them to email me.  My number one skill is being able to communicate to others, be it affiliate managers or other marketing professionals - You need to master that to become successful in this industry (yeah, sorry, I know you want to just email people all day …)

Hopefully that clears up all the confusion as to why I have not replied to the emails thus far.   Oh yeah, What kind of format would you guys like this in?  Do you think we should start a forum, chatroom, newsletters, daily email, etc?  It needs to be dynamic - we are creating a community.  Would love your thoughts…  d( ** spam_makes_ppl_money ** )eStonesucks@gmail.com.  Holla.

    Hey fella!

Just had a quick catch up read… everything is sounding great and you have my full support. Quick Q though… why no email subscribe link for your feedburner feed? :(

    TTFN!

Looking forward to hearing from you. I think a private (invite) forum would probably be best suited. If it’s public then you’re gonna have a group of people doing the work and having the leeching masses take advantage of that.

So I vote for a private forum…..and I look forward to an invite :)

  3. The Rookie Says:

I second the private forum idea. I will go in on a license to Vbulletin with anyone who wants in on that. They cost $160…

  4. davidg Says:

Private forum kind of goes against the whole aim of what you say you want to offer though no? And paid forums do not keep out the leeches, just many of them :)

  5. Dukey Says:

I reckon we need a forum as it’s the best way for everyone to participate and share ideas.

Are you going to be sharing what you already know or are you looking to create new marketing systems? Or Both?

You’ll also need some way to stop people leeching everything if they haven’t contributed, otherwise people will get fed up with putting in the work and seeing it used by people who are just watching and not doing.

  6. Pr0xyhub Says:

I say we get an IRC channel.. chat in real time would be nice.

There would be a lot of leeches with a forum.

  7. Google Search Sucks Says:

I vote AGAINST a private forum.
    Here is why:
People will leak information regardless. Once it is leaked it will loose value. Other blogs/forums/contributors will take credit for content that was developed here.

I propose keeping the information open for anyone to access. The key is to use discretion and post just enough so people understand the concept technique rather than a step by step approach. This way if someone wants to use the methods outlined they will actually have to be creative and think of their own niche or how to leverage the different tools together to generate profit.

    What do you think?

  8. The Rookie Says:

^ that works for me too. Well, you could have private sections on the forum - you don’t have to close the whole thing.

  9. nogenius Says:

I think a forum, public or private, along with scheduled chats every now and then to discuss certain sections of coding systems would be great.

As a person who is currently working on a blackhat system, I am really looking forward to communicating and sharing ideas with others that are similar-minded.

I think we should sent letters to each other.

  12. Riddarhusetgal Says:

I think you should weed people out. Why don’t you come up with a sort of semi-interview type of thing to seperate the men from the boys - or in this case, the women from the girls.

One thing I hate about a lot of IM type forums is this whole bullshit about n00b this and n00b that.

For instance, a person may be a n00b to the whole online thing but let’s say they spend their days an an analyst at an investment bank, a mortgage banker for a top 100 firm or a plastic surgeon (I’m just getting into domaining and believe me alot of already highly-paid folks bank their money in domaining because it pays more than the S&P 500 or for that matter a hedge fund).

I think because the whole -make-money-online thing , well you can’t learn in school, there’s a premium placed on hands-on knowledge. That’s cool and all, but the fact is that it seems to me that the “really successfully people” (you are one of them it seems) - I’m talking 8 and 9 figures - well they don’t just interact with the online types.

You make $50K a day doing arbitrage? Great! Why not get to know some hedge fund managers and get an angel or VC to give you $10 million to play with so you can make $5 mill a day.

You make $5k a day doing IM? Great! Get to know a Saudi doctor whose oil uncle will give you $2 mill to play with ’cause it makes him more money than the stock market. Get your one of your forum managers who doesn’t know shit about arbitrage but can make you a pitchbook that would cost you $25,000 to hire out to some elance business analyst to do it for you for free.

In this example I would be that kind of person (lol). That’s why I read WhizBang’s Blog ’cause of the kind of people you can meet there - from all walks of life.

So to answer you question, I would be very interested in learning from you and being a part of what you are doing if you open-minded about building a team of people from all backgrounds will CLEARLY DEFINED GOALS.

For instance, at the moment I haven’t broken the $1/day mark online (been doing it for about 9 months) but believe it or not, it’s inspirational to read about someone like you going from $5/day to $30k a day.

I know a fair amount about ccTLD opportunities and international opportunities and I’d love to share some of these ideas. Excuse me if I sound presumptuous but I would imagine with your skills if you haven’t already done so…if you take a look at some of the int’l opportunities (especially with the falling dollar!!!) you could kick some ass!

I’d love to share some ideas about where to get expired ccTLD domains (which I have). You have high income countries with high CPC and if you can get the traffic, they WILL pay.

Anyway, sorry to write a mile hear but I figured it’d be easier than writing a long email which probably won’t be answered for weeks.

If you have some sort of questionaire that you send out to people you could probably get a clear sense of who you do and don’t want to work with. For example you may ask:

    - What are you 5 favorite books

-Whose business models have you studied? (example, I really like reading about M&A and LBO experts like Sandy Weil from Citigroup)

-What are you 5 best skills sets

-What are you financial goals (in my case it is to be in the top 1% of High Net Worth Individuals as defined by the Merrill Lynch World Wealth Report within 5 years)

-What charities/nonprofits do you support? (this says alot about whether or not someone is a selfish bastard just looking to get vs. to give)

-Have you ever been banned or blacklisted (I have to admit some effing Nazis a couple of places around the web haved banned me, lol)

-How big are your feet? (Important question being a girl and al…..J/K)

Dunno if any of this is useful to you but thought I’d share.

    Good luck with your work.

I already have a private forum that I’ve not launched yet, I’d be willing to help out on that front ;)

  14. Axxo Says:

    deStone,

I would be interested in the private forum. Thanks.

    axxo.

  15. davidg Says:

What about a locked down wiki? Less noise, more signal. Can have forum threads associated with each entry for general discussion but the main content would not be lost in the chatter and falling threads?

  16. Ricki Says:

I agree with davidg. A locked wiki would be an excellent idea along with a private forum.

  17. Bryan Says:

I think the private forum would be an awesome idea but Wiki is even better.

Wiki seems to be easier to read so I would vote more for that. I also like Barman’s response and be more like mailing back and forth.

I guess the interview process would be as well.

    Thanks in advance!

  18. morose Says:

A combination of an IRC channel and a web-based site for storing information (wiki format is a good start) would be nice.

  19. barman Says:

This just in…. deStone already started a private channel as a test run… invited people are all up to 6K / week.
