I have two four requirements to use this code.

  • so if your reading this, and you haven’t signed up on the mailing list - do so, now.
  • Go to another super affiliates site and ask them where their code samples are and link back to me in the comment section.

You’re going to need a few things for this to work. One of them is magpie, then you will need a dictionary file as well (right click, save as). For those truly lazy, here is a complete download of this entire tutorial.

Step 1:

Create a directory called backlinker on your server. Dump the contents of dictionary.txt, the magpie install, and backlinker.php into it.

Step 2:

Modify the code so that $promoteurl is your website you are wanting to blast out. $throttle is just seconds between hits on del.icio.us.

Step 3:

Run the backlinker from the Command Line. If you have other dictionary files, you can use them instead of ‘dictionary’ (must be a .txt file)

php backlinker.php dictionary

Step 4:

Watch as the hits start rolling in from referrer logs. Modifications I have on my personal version - I store each url in a database so I can re - hit it later, I have proxy support built in, and I am using the multi-curl class our buddy win– created.     It’s using the delicious tag as a SOURCE of URLs to parse.

    It uses the dictionary to find random tags on delicous, and then grabs URLs from that tag.

    The urls are spammed with curl with the referrer set to the site you want to referrer.

    This will work great if you are interested in getting the attention of maybe the 1% of webmasters that check their raw apache/httpd logs. For the majority of webmasters that use image pixels and javascript (google analytics, statcounter, sitemeter, etc) to record analytics, this is useless.

    I think you’ll find that fsockopen is better to use in PHP5 than curl_* functions, partly due to the fact that sockets are a standard part of the PHP default build, and curl requires extension compilation.

    You also don’t have the overhead of dealing with the response, and sending unnecessary headers. curl is merely a wrapper for sockets.

    Other than that, nice idea. I’ll be putting together a sockets version shortly.

I used other refering spam software to test spam on my one of the website.To my surprise, awstats counted the referrers but when i logged into google analytics those referers were not counted. And i think that these days everyone is either using google analytics or any other advanced stats services which can defect which referer is fake and which is genuine.

    So to conclude, referer spam donot work that well now and if there is any script which works very well, i will be happy if you can share it with me.
